ALERTA URGENTE

Desde anoche ha crecido la tensión en el territorio resguardado por la comunidad de Río Blanco en lucha por su territorio y su río. Se ha escuchado disparos hasta el día de hoy y se mantienen hombres fuertemente armados rodeando el lugar.
Un gran operativo de fuerzas represivas conjuntas se moviliza desde La Esperanza hacia la comunidad con la intención de desalojar y capturar a las luchadores y luchadoras que resisten.
La comunidad está organizada y se mantiene de manera pacífica en su lucha por los territorios y ríos.
Se alerta a los organismos de derechos humanos, movimientos sociales, a la comunidad nacional e internacional que estén vigilantes de posibles agresiones en contra de compañeras y compañeros que se encuentran en la zona. Les recordamos que hay una ACCION URGENTE (http://copinhonduras.blogspot.com/2013/04/accion-urgente.html) para hacer publica la solidaridad con esta lucha y presión antes las instancias pertinentes para que paren la agresión a los pueblos indígenas especialmente a esta lucha del COPINH y el pueblo lenca de Intibucá.

COPINH: URGENT ALERT in Rio Blanco
Since last night, tension has been mounting in the territory being protected by the community of Rio Blanco in its struggle to defend the territory and river. Gunshots have been heard, including today, and heavily arm
ed men surround the area.
A large operative of joint repressive forces is on its way from La Esperanza to the community with the intention of evicting and arresting those who are part of the resistance blockade.
The community is organized and continues its peaceful struggle for territories and rivers.
We ask that human rights organizations, social movements and the national and international community be on the alert with regards to posible attacks against our comrades in the región. We remind you that there is an URGENT ACTION (http://www.soaw.org/about-us/equipo-sur/263-stories-from-honduras/4091-copinhrioblanco) to express solidarity with this struggle and to pressure the authorities to halt the aggression against Indigenous Peoples and, in particular, against this struggle by COPINH and the Lenca of Intibucá.
